Pair of original World War One photographs depicting brothers Walter and Charles Laing who served together in the 2nd Battalion Canadian Infantry.

According to records Charles was pulled from the front lines due to illness on July 27th 1916. While he was recovering his brother Walter was killed in the Battle of Somme. Charles returned to the frontlines on September 15th just five days after his brothers death. He lived to see the end of the war and was able to enjoy the peace he and his brother fought for.

Photographs measure approximately 3.25″ x 5.25″ each, edges have tape residue causing some discoloration. Both photos ID’d on reverse.
